Group Therapy
RCS Group Therapy
Group therapy allows our youth to practice healthy relationship dynamics in a safe environment. In addition, individuals that participate in group therapy are able to learn various coping strategies from their peers and therapists. Furthermore, group therapy also can help individuals to reduce feelings of isolation, shame, or anxiety.

What is Group Therapy
Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy where a small group of individuals meets regularly to discuss their experiences, struggles, and emotions under the guidance of a trained therapist. It provides a supportive and safe environment for participants to share their thoughts and feelings, learn from one another, and work together toward personal growth and healing. For boys aged 10-18, group therapy can be particularly beneficial for several reasons:
Peer Support: Boys in this age group often benefit from connecting with peers who may be experiencing similar challenges. Group therapy allows them to share their experiences, validate each other's feelings, and offer support and encouragement.
Social Skills Development: Group therapy provides a natural setting for boys to practice social skills such as communication, active listening, empathy, and cooperation. Through interactions with their peers and feedback from the therapist, they can learn and refine these skills in a supportive environment.
Normalization: Boys may feel isolated or different due to their struggles or emotions. Being part of a group where they realize others face similar challenges can help normalize their experiences and reduce feelings of shame or stigma.
Diverse Perspectives: Group therapy exposes boys to diverse perspectives and experiences, broadening their understanding of themselves and the world around them. Hearing how others have coped with similar issues can offer new insights and strategies for managing their challenges.
Role Modeling: Boys can benefit from observing positive role models within the group who demonstrate healthy coping mechanisms, effective communication, and resilience. These role models can inspire and motivate them to adopt similar behaviors in their own lives.
Overall, group therapy provides boys aged 10-18 with a supportive and empowering environment to explore their emotions, build social skills, and learn valuable coping strategies as they navigate the challenges of adolescence.
Additional Benefits of Group Therapy

Group therapy can be especially helpful for concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, addiction, relationship issues, and stress management.
